• Amy Hall Garner for ABT Studio Company Fall Tour
  • November 7, 2023 – November 17, 2023:  ABT Studio Company will present their Fall Tour programming, featuring world premiere works by Amy Hall Garner (female) and Jamar Roberts (male) alongside works by Hope Boykin (female), Houston Thomas (male), and Alexei Ratmansky (male). 
• Samantha Lynch for the Norwegian National Ballet – Program: Klassik Mesteraften
  • November 9, 2023 – May 11, 2024:  the Norwegian National Ballet will present Klassik Mesteraften, a program featuring a new work by Samantha Lynch (female), alongside works after Marius Petipa by Kaloyan Boyadjiev (male), Natalia Makarova (female), and Xander Parish (male). 
• Nejia Yatkin for Dallas Black Dance Theater – Program: Director’s Choice
  • November 10, 2023 – November 11, 2023:  Dallas Black Dance Theater will present Director’s Choice, A program featuring world premiere works by Nejla Yatkin (female) and Norbert De La Cruz III (male) alongside a work by Francesca Harper (female).
• Carrie Ruth Trumbo for Pegasus Contemporary Ballet – Program: The Perspective Project
  • November 10, 2023 – November 12, 2023:  Pegasus Contemporary Ballet will present The Perspective Project, a program featuring a new work by Carrie Ruth Trumbo (female) alongside a work by Kevin Jenkins (male).
• Helen Picket for the National Ballet of Canada – Program: Emma Bovary & Passion
  • November 11, 2023 – November 18, 2023:  The National Ballet of Canada will present Emma Bovary & Passion, featuring a world premiere work by Helen Pickett (female) alongside a work by James Kudelka (male)
• Micaela Taylor for NDT 2 – Program: Illuminate
  • November 2, 2023 – December 21, 2023:  NDT 2 will present Illuminate, a program featuring world premiere works by Micaela Taylor (female), and Jermaine Spivey (male), alongside a work by Nadav Zelner (male).
• Sabrina Sadowska for Theater Chemnitz Ballet – Program: Rhapsody in C
  • October 28, 2023 – March 17, 2023:  Theater Chemnitz Ballet will present Rhapsody in C, a program featuring a new evening-length work by company Ballet Director Sabrina Sadowska (female)
• Rima Pipoyan for Bern Ballet – Program: Anatomy of Emotion
  • September 14, 2023 – January 6, 2024:  Bern Ballet will present Anatomy of Emotion, a program featuring world premiere works by Rima Pipoyan (female), Etienne Béchard (male), and Mauro Astolfi (male).
    
    

Female Choreography Commissions, World Premieres, and Programming

• Emma Portner for the Royal Swedish Ballet – Program: Timulak/Portner
  • February 9, 2024 – March 2, 2024:  the Royal Swedish Ballet will present Timulak/Portner, a program featuring a world premiere work by Emma Portner (female), alongside a work by Lukáš Timulak (male). 
• Jennifer Archibald and Nicola Wills for BalletX – Program: Spring Series 2024
  • March 6, 2024 – March 10, 2024:  BalletX will present Spring Series 2024, a program featuring world premiere works by Jennifer Archibald (female) and Nicola Wills (female), alongside a work by Jodie Gates (female).
• Stina Quagebeur for BalletX – Program: Summer Series 2024
  • July 10, 2024 – July 21, 2024:  BalletX will present Summer Series 2024, a program featuring world premiere works by Stina Quagebeur (female), and Loughlan Prior (male), alongside a work by Amy Hall Garner (female).

• Sarasota Ballet Announces New Artist in Residence
  • On October 22, 2023:  Sarasota Ballet announced that Jessica Lang (female) has been appointed as the company’s new Artist in Residence. 
• San Francisco Ballet Announces New School Director Appointment
  • On October 31, 2023:  the San Francisco Ballet announced that Grace Maduell Holmes (female) will take on the role of Director for the San Francisco Ballet School effective January 1, 2024. Holmes succeeds Patrick Armand (male) in this role. This is a male-to-female transition. 
• Kansas City Ballet School Announces Departure of School Director
  • On October 31, 2023:  the Kansas City Ballet School announced that school director Grace Maduell Holmes (female) will depart the school effective January 1, 2024. No successor has been named as of the date of this post. 
• Staatsballett Karlsruhe Announces New Ballet Director
  • On October 27, 2023:  Staatsballett Karlsruhe announced the appointment of Raimondo Rebeck (male) as the new Ballet Director for the company effective at the beginning of the 2024/2025 season. Rebeck succeeds Bridget Breiner (female) in the role. This is a female-to-male transition. 
• Staatsballett Karlsruhe Announces New Artistic Deputy and Choreographer in Residence
  • On October 27, 2023:  Staatsballett Karlsruhe announced the appointment of Kristína Paulin (female) as Artistic Deputy and Choreographer in Residence of the company.

• Applications for the 2024 Battery Dance Festival are Now Open
  • Applications for the 2024 Battery Dance Festival are now open. The festival invites “Individual artists and collectives “ to apply. 
  • The application deadline is December 31, 2023.
