- Skyla Schreter at Fire Island Dance Festival
- July 14, 2023 – July 17, 2023: Fire Island Dance Festival will present its annual program featuring new works by Skyla Schreter (female), Jonathan Lee (male), and Paul McGill (male), alongside works by Ahmad Joudeh (male), Ray Mercer (male), Juliano Nunes (male), David Parsons (male), and Taylor Stanley (male).
- Elizabeth Wistrich for City Ballet of San Diego – Program: On The Move 2023
- July 14, 2023 – July 15, 2023: City Ballet of San Diego will present On The Move 2023, a program featuring new works by Elizabeth Wistrich (female), Geoffrey Gonzalez (male), and Brian Heil (male).
Female Choreography Commissions, World Premieres, and Programming
- Sabrina Sadowska for Theater Chemnitz Ballet – Program: Rhapsody in C
- October 28, 2023 – March 17, 2023: Theater Chemnitz Ballet will present Rhapsody in C, a program featuring a new evening-length work by company Ballet Director Sabrina Sadowska (female).
- Helen Lai for Hong Kong Dance Company – Program: HerStory
- December 15, 2023 – December 17, 2023: Hong Kong Dance Company will present an updated version of HerStory, a program that is part of choreographer Helen Lai’s (female) “Women’s Trilogy.” HerStory is described as an “Unraveling esoteric writings by, of, and about women,” that “weav(es) in the writings of Xi Xi and Wong Bik-wan, two female authors from Hong Kong.”
- Kirsten Wicklund for Ballet Edmonton – Program: Avancer
- February 29, 2023 – February 10, 2024: Ballet Edmonton will present Avancer, a program featuring world premiere works by Kirsten Wicklund (female), and James Gregg (male), alongside a work by Wen Wei Wang (male).
- Gong Xingxing for Scapino Ballet Rotterdam – Program: Origin
- April 7, 2024 – June 9, 2024: Scapino Ballet Rotterdam will present Origin, a program featuring new works by Gong Xingxing (female), and Lior Tavori (male).
- Erika Overturff for American Midwest Ballet – Program: Cinderella
- April 27, 2024 – May 12, 2024: the American Midwest Ballet will present Cinderella, a world premiere evening-length ballet by choreographer Erika Overturff (female).

- Trisha Brown Dance Company Announces New Executive Director
- On June 27, 2023: the Trisha Brown Dance Company announced that Kirstin Kapustik (female) has been appointed as Executive Director of the company effective July 1, 2023. Kapustik succeeds Barbara Dufty (female) in the role. This is a female-to-female transition.

Outstanding Artists (lighting, music, tech, design, etc.)
- Recipient of the Louise Bentall Biennial Award for Emerging British Columbia Choreographers Announced
- On June 28, 2023: the Hawthorne Foundation and DanceHouse announced that Livona Ellis (female) is the recipient of the Inaugural Louise Bentall Biennial Award for Emerging British Columbia Choreographers. Alyssa Favero (she/they), and Joshua Ongcol (male) received honorable mentions from the foundation.
- Winning Films announced for the Dance in Focus Film Festival
- The Dance in Focus Film Festival has announced the 2023 winning films. In the professional category films by Himerria Wortham (female) & Raquel Cabrera (female), Jessie Lee Thorne (she/they) & Justin Thorne, Jingqiu Guan (female), and Chris Emile (male) & Jackson Kroopf (male) were chosen. In the student category films by Kate Ketcham (she/they) & Julia Ponce-Diaz (female), and Lexii Regina (female) were also awarded. Screenings of the winning films will be presented July 12-16, 2023.
- 2023 McKnight Choreographer Fellows Announced
- In June 2023: Rita Mustaphi (female), Deneane Richburg (female), and Joe Chvala (male) were announced as the 2023 McKnight Choreographer Fellows. The fellowship includes a $25,000 fellowship award, alongside “additional support for research and development of their work.”
- The Royal Ballet Announces New Appointments to the Music Department
- On July 6, 2023: The Royal Ballet announced appointments and departures from its music department, including the appointment of Charlotte Politi (female) as Constant Lambert Associate, and Elli Welsh (female) as associate pianist, alongside appointments of Jose Angel Salazar (male) as the Jette Parker Ballet Conductor, Yi Wei (male) as 2023/2024 Constant Lambert Fellow, and Haruka Kawaguchi (male) as a pianist.
