• Sidra Bell for The Big Muddy Dance Company – Program: Winter Concert: Evolution
  • January 11, 2024 – January 14, 2024:  The Big Muddy Dance Company will present Winter Concert: Evolution, A program featuring a world premiere work by Sidra Bell (female), alongside a work by Norbert De La Cruz III (male).
• Sofia Nappi at Tanz Köln – Program: Pupo
  • January 13, 2024 – January 14, 2024:  Tanz Köln will present Pupo, a new work by Sofia Nappi (female). 
• Ella Rothschild for Opera Ballet Vlaanderen – Program: Die Sieben Todsünden
  • December 16, 2023 – February 4, 2024:  the Opera Ballet Vlaanderen will present Die Sieben Todsünden & Petroesjka, A double bill featuring new reimagined works by Ella Rothschild (female), and Stijn Celis (male).
• Sharon Eyal and Sol León for Staatsballett Berlin – Program: 2 Chapters Love
  • December 11, 2023 – June 14, 2024:  Staatsballett Berlin will present 2 Chapters Love, A program featuring new works by Sharon Eyal (female), and Sol León (female). 
• Vittoria Girelli, Samantha Lynch, and Morgan Runacre-Temple – Program: CREATIONS XII-XV
  • November 25, 2023 – February 16, 2024:  Stuttgart Ballet will present CREATIONS XII-XV, a program featuring world premiere works by three female choreographers Vittoria Girelli (female), Samantha Lynch (female) and Morgann Runacre-Temple (female). 
• Bobbi Jene Smith for Ballet Theater Basel – Program: Marie & Pierre
  • November 18, 2023 – February 17, 2024:  Ballet Theater Basel will present Marie & Pierre, a program featuring two works by Bobbi Jene Smith (female), one of which is a world premiere and the other a company and Swiss premiere. The program also features a commissioned score by Celeste Oram (female).  
• Samantha Lynch for the Norwegian National Ballet – Program: Klassik Mesteraften
  • November 9, 2023 – May 11, 2024:  the Norwegian National Ballet will present Klassik Mesteraften, a program featuring a new work by Samantha Lynch (female), alongside works after Marius Petipa by Kaloyan Boyadjiev (male), Natalia Makarova (female), and Xander Parish (male). 
• Sabrina Sadowska for Theater Chemnitz Ballet – Program: Rhapsody in C
  • October 28, 2023 – March 17, 2023:  Theater Chemnitz Ballet will present Rhapsody in C, a program featuring a new evening-length work by company Ballet Director Sabrina Sadowska (female).

Female Choreography Commissions, World Premieres, and Programming

• Brett Ishida for Ishida Dance – Program: Keepsake
  • January 12, 2024 – January 15, 2024:  Ishida Dance will present Keepsake, a world premiere program by Brett Ishida (female)
• Brett Fukuda for Ballet de l’Opéra national du Rhin – Program: Sérénades
  • January 13, 2024 – January 28, 2024:  Ballet de l’Opéra national du Rhin will present Sérénades, a program featuring new creations by Brett Fukuda (female), Gil Harush (male) and Bruno Bouché (male).
• Natália Horečná for Alina Cojocaru & Acworkroom Productions at Sadler Wells – Program: La Strada
  • January 25, 2024 – January 28, 2024:  Sadler Wells will present La Strada an Alina Cojocaru & Acworkroom Production. This world premiere evening length work will feature choreography by Natália Horečná (female).
• Megan McCarthy, Sasha Rydlizky, and Miche’ Smith for Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company – Program: Traverse
  • February 1, 2024 – February 3, 2024:  Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company will present Traverse, a program featuring new works by company dancers Peter Farrow (male), Megan McCarthy (female) Alexander Pham (male), Fausto Rivera (male), Sasha Rydlizky(female), and Miche’ Smith (female) alongside world premiere works by Keith Johnson (male) and Chia-Chi Chiang.
• Crystal Pite for Nederlands Dans Theater at Holland Dance Festival – Program: From Here Now Far
  • February 8, 2024 – February 10, 2024:  Holland Dance Festival will present Nederlands Dans Theater’s program From Here Now Far, which features a world premiere collaboration between Crystal Pite (female) and Simon McBurney (male) alongside works by Sharon Eyal (female) and Gabriela Carrizo (female).
• Malia Johnston for New Zealand Dance Company at Holland Dance Festival – Program: Whenua
  • February 9, 2024 – February 11, 2024:  Holland Dance Festival will present New Zealand Dance Company’s program Whenua, which features a new creation by Malia Johnston (female) and Rodney Bell (male) alongside a work by Eddie Elliott (male).
• Gemma Bond and Jessica Lang for the Royal Ballet – Program: Festival of New Choreography
  • February 15, 2024 – February 21, 2024:  the Royal Ballet will present Festival of New Choreography, which will present a program of New Works by Gemma Bond (female), Jessica Lang (female), Joshua Junker (male), and Mthuthuzeli November (male), and a new “immersive work” by Robert Binet (male).
• Sharon Eyal and Louise Lecavalier for Gauthier Dance – Program: Elements
  • February 29, 2024 – March 10, 2024:  Gauthier Dance will present Elements, A program featuring world premiere works by Sharon Eyal (female), Louise Lecavalier (female), Mauro Bigonzetti (male), and Andonis Foniadakis (male).
• Yusha-Marie Sorzano for Repertory Dance Theater – Program: Gamut
  • April 11, 2024 – April 13, 2024:  Repertory Dance Theater will present Gamut, a program featuring a new commissioned work by Yusha-Marie Sorzano (female) alongside works by Ihsan Rustem (male), Michio Ito (male) and Lar Lubovich (male).
• Charlotte Boye-Christensen for Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company – Program: Ascent
  • April 18, 2024 – April 20, 2024:  Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company will present Ascent, A program featuring world premiere works by Charlotte Boye-Christensen (female) and Daniel Charon (male), alongside a work by Stefanie Batten Bland (female).

• The Tallahassee Ballet Announces Interim Artistic Director
  • On January 9, 2024:  The Tallahassee Ballet announced that company Artistic Director Tyrone Brooks (male) will be taking a leave of absence due to health reasons. The company also announced that Meagan Helman (female) has been appointed Interim Artistic Director of the company.
• Brooklyn Ballet Announces New Managing Director
  • On January 10, 2024:  Brooklyn Ballet announced that Jelani Buckner (male) has been appointed as the company’s ‘Inaugural’ Managing Director. 
• Cleveland Ballet Announces Leadership Changes 
  • On January 10, 2024:  Cleveland Ballet Board of Directors announced the conclusion of the 3 month long investigation regarding misconduct allegations against the former CEO and Artistic Director of the company. The Board of directors announced that Gladisa Guadalupe (female), who had been suspended since November 2023 has been fired. The board of directors also announced that Timour Bourtasenkov (male) has been appointed as the new Artistic Director of the company, and Larry Goodman (male) has been appointed Interim CEO. 
• Jacob’s Pillow Announces Associate Artistic Director
  • On January 10, 2024:  Jacob’s Pillow announced that Kim Chan (female) has been appointed as Associate Artistic Director of the organization.

• National Dance Institute Announces ‘Helen Stambler Neuberger Artist in Residence’
  • The National Dance Institute has announced that Tiffany Rea-Fisher (female) has been appointed as the ‘Helen Stambler Neuberger Artist in Residence for the 2024 Season.
