  • April 13, 2024 – July 5, 2024:  Aalto Ballett Essen will present Last, a program featuring world premiere works by Ana Maria Lucaciu (female), Armen Hakobyan (male), and Ben Van Cauwenbergh (male).
• Michele Wiles for BalletNEXT 
  • April 14, 2024:  BalletNEXT will present a new program featuring a world premiere work by Michele Wiles (female) alongside repertory works by Mauro Bigonzetti (male) and Michele Wiles. 
• Courtney Lyon for Ballet Quad Cities – Program: Dorothy Goes to Oz & Snow White
  • April 13, 2024:  Ballet Quad Cities will present Dorothy Goes to Oz & Snow White, a program featuring a new work by Courtney Lyon (female) alongside a work by Emily Kate Long (female).
• Charlotte Boye-Christensen for Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company – Program: Ascent
  • April 18, 2024 – April 20, 2024:  Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company will present Ascent, A program featuring world premiere works by Charlotte Boye-Christensen (female) and Daniel Charon (male), alongside a work by Stefanie Batten Bland (female).
• Julie Niekrasz and Alia Kache for Ballet Memphis – Program: American Roots
  • April 19, 2024 – April 21, 2024:  Ballet Memphis will present American Roots, A program featuring new works by Julie Niekrasz (female), Alia Kache (female), and Brandon Ramey (male). 
• Lauren Lovette for Colorado Ballet – Program: Masterworks
  • April 12, 2024 – April 21, 2024:  Colorado Ballet will present Masterworks, a program featuring a world premiere work by Lauren Lovette (female), alongside works by George Balanchine (male), and Yoshihisa Arai (male). 
• Gong Xingxing for Scapino Ballet Rotterdam – Program: Origin
  • April 7, 2024 – June 9, 2024:  Scapino Ballet Rotterdam will present Origin, a program featuring new works by Gong Xingxing (female), and Lior Tavori (male).
• Francesca Harper for Ailey II at the Joyce
  • April 9, 2024 – April 14, 2024:  Ailey II will be in residence at the Joyce Theater and will present a program featuring new works by Francesca Harper (female), and Baye & Asa, alongside works by Alvin Ailey (male), Judith Jamison (female), and William Forsythe (male).
• Mélanie Lomoff for Opera Ballet Vlaanderen – Program: Ombra
  • March 30, 2024 – May 8, 2024:  the Opera Ballet Vlaanderen will present Ombra, A world premiere program featuring a collaboration of “chorus members, dancers and orchestral musicians of Opera Ballet Vlaanderen (in a) creative dialogue” including choreography by Mélanie Lomoff (female) and Luis Marrafa (male).
• Tara Schaufuss for The Royal Danish Ballet – Program: Koreorama
  • March 22, 2024 – April 30, 2023:  The Royal Danish Ballet will present Koreorama, A program featuring new works by Tara Schaufuss (female), Tobias Praetorius (male), and Matteo Di Loreto (male).
• Maxine Doyle for NDT 2 – Program: The Beauty of it All
  • March 14, 2024 – May 2, 2024:  NDT 2 will present The Beauty of it All, a program featuring a world premiere work by Maxine Doyle (female), alongside works by Jiří Kylián (male), and Ohad Naharin (male).
• Sharon Eyal and Sol León for Staatsballett Berlin – Program: 2 Chapters Love
  • December 11, 2023 – June 14, 2024:  Staatsballett Berlin will present 2 Chapters Love, A program featuring new works by Sharon Eyal (female), and Sol León (female). 

 

Female Choreography Commissions, World Premieres, and Programming

• Dani Rowe and Shannon Alvis for the OBT2 Tour
  • April 20, 2024 – June 1, 2024:  Oregon Ballet Theater’s second company, OBT, 2 will present its 2024 tour featuring works by Dani Rowe (female), Shannon Alvis (female), Ben Stevenson (male) and Dominic Walsh (male).
• Deborah Brown for Bangarra Dance Theatre – Program: Horizon
  • June 11, 2024 – September 7, 2024:  Bangarra Dance Theatre will present Horizon, an evening-length world premiere work co-choreographed by Deborah Brown (female) and Moss Te Ururangi Patterson (male) the piece will feature set design by Elizabeth Gadsby (female), costume design by Jennifer Irwin (female), and Lighting design by Karen Norris (female).
• Vanessa Owen and Stacy Wolfson for American Dance Festival – Program: Made in NC
  • July 7, 2024:  the American Dance Festival will present Made in NC, a program featuring world-premiere commissioned works by Choreographic Duos Gavin Stewart (male) & Vanessa Owen (female), Stacy Wolfson (female) & Curtis Eller (male), alongside world premieres by Dom-Sebastian Alexis (male), and Iyun Ashani Harrison (male).
• Dianne McIntyre and Kate Weare for American Dance Festival – Program: Footprints
  • July 13, 2024 – July 14, 2024:  the American Dance Festival will present Footprints, a program featuring world premiere works by Dianne McIntyre (female), Kate Weare (female), and David Dorfman (male).
• Arielle Smith for London City Ballet – Program: Resurgence
  • July 17, 2024 – September 14, 2024:  London City Ballet will present the company’s inaugural season tour program, Resurgence, which features a world premiere work by Arielle Smith (female) alongside works by Christopher Marney (male), Ashley Page (male), and Kenneth MacMillan (male)
• Kristen McNally for The Northern Ballet – Program: Three Short Ballets 
  • September 6, 2024 – September 14, 2024:  The Northern Ballet will present Three Short Ballets, a program featuring world premiere works by Kristen McNally (female) and Mthuthuzeli November (male), alongside a work by Rudi van Dantzig (male).
• Jennifer Archibald for Grand Rapids Ballet – Program: Symphony of Movement
  • October 11, 2024 – October 13, 2024:  Grand Rapids Ballet will present Symphony of Movement, a program featuring a world premiere work by Jennifer Archibald (female), alongside works by Lar Lubovitch (male), and James Sofranko (male).
• Jessica Lang for Sarasota Ballet – Program: Program 1 Relative Works
  • October 25, 2024 – October 27, 2024:  Sarasota Ballet will present Program 1: Relative Works, A program featuring a world premiere by Jessica Lang (female), alongside works by Ricardo Graziano (male) and Johan Kobborg (male).
• Gemma Bond for Sarasota Ballet – Program: Program 4 Quintessential
  • January 31, 2025 – February 3, 2025:  Sarasota Ballet will present Program 4: Quintessential, a program featuring a world premiere work by Gemma Bond (female), alongside works by Renato Paroni (male) and Paul Taylor (male).
• Penny Saunders for Grand Rapids Ballet – Program: Be Here Now
  • April 25, 2025 – May 4, 2025:  Grand Rapids Ballet will present Be Here Now, a program featuring a world premiere work by Penny Saunders (female), alongside works by Darrell Grand Moultrie (male), George Balanchine (male), Trey McIntyre (male).

• Pacific Northwest Ballet Announces New Resident Choreographer
  • March 28, 2024:  Pacific Northwest Ballet announced that Jessica Lang (female) has been appointed as the new Resident Choreographer of the company effective August 2024. 
• The Washington School of Ballet Announces New School Director
  • In March 2024, The Washington School of Ballet announced that Trinidad Vives (female) will succeed Katie C. Sopoci Drake (female) as School Director effective June 2024.
