SUMMARY:Dance | NYC: Dance Workforce Resilience (DWR) Fund
DESCRIPTION:Made possible by the support of the Ford Foundation\, New York Community Trust\, and other generous funders\, the purpose of the Dance Workforce Resilience (DWR) Fund is to promote fair labor practices and addresses wage inequities and precarious working conditions for individual freelance dancers by providing awards tied to formal contracts to dancers within the New York City dance ecosystem. Currently in its pilot iteration\, the DWR Fund intends to: \n\nReduce the wage gap between individual freelance dancers and living wage standards in the NYC metropolitan area;\nIncentivize equitable labor practices by promoting the widespread use of contracts; and\nAddress systemic inequities by prioritizing the most underpaid and underprotected groups of dance workers including African\, Latina/o/x\, Asian\, Arab\, and Native American (ALAANA); disabled; immigrant; older adults; women-identifying; gender nonconforming/nonbinary/genderqueer; and transgender dancers.\n\nDance/NYC will award one-time flat grants of $1\,000 to individual freelance dancers in the metropolitan New York City area for contracted dance work that includes a public performance or presentation taking place within the NYC metro area\, completed between January 1\, 2025\, and April 30\, 2026. Rehearsals are recognized as work\, but projects are only eligible if the final performance or presentation occurs within the NYC metro area. Over the course of the grant period\, Dance/NYC will distribute $324\,000 to more than 320 awardees. Awards will be determined through a weighted lottery system. \nELIGIBILITY:  \n\nAre 18 or older;\nLive in the metropolitan NYC area (including the five boroughs of NYC\, as well as Nassau\, Rockland\, Suffolk\, and Westchester counties in New York State\, and Bergen and Hudson counties in New Jersey) and are able to provide proof of address;\nAre able to provide a fully executed contract that shows:\n\n​The contractor was:\n\nContracted for project-based dance work that includes a public performance or presentation; and\nContracted specifically as a dancer (note that choreographers are welcome to apply if they are also functioning as a dancer in the contracted work and can supply a contract to this effect).\nProvided via contract information on location\, pay rate\, contract period\, working hours and breaks\, payment terms\, dancer role\, independent contractor status\, and contractee information.\n\n\nThe contracted work occurred\n\nWithin the period of January 1\, 2025 to April 30\, 2026 with applications being accepted until March 2026\nThe performance or public presentation took place within the metropolitan NYC area (rehearsals alone do not qualify).\n\n\n\n\nAre able to provide the following information to process ACH bank transfers of awards:\n\nA complete W-9 Form; and\nBank Account Number and Routing Number.\n\nIf you are unable to receive funds via direct deposit\, your grant will be processed via check.\n\n\n\n\n\nYou are encouraged to apply if you are a current or past grantee of Dance/NYC or if you have not previously been funded by Dance/NYC.\nApplicants are not eligible to apply if they: \n\nAre under the age 18;\nLive outside of the metropolitan NYC area;\nAre being represented by a company (applications must be submitted by individual dancers);\nSubmit a contract including:\n\nwork distinguishing the applicant as a full time or ongoing employee (versus an independent contractor);\nwork as a non-dancer (e.g.\, choreographer who is not functioning as a dancer in the work\, arts administrator\, producer\, etc.);\nwork beyond the range of January 1\, 2025 to April 30\, 2026; or\nwork outside of the NYC metropolitan area.\n\n\n\nUPCOMING DEADLINE: March 3\, 2026

SUMMARY:Works and Process Residency
DESCRIPTION:Each year\, Works & Process produces more than 25 creative residencies via a network of over a dozen partner venues in five states. Artists and projects are curated and – as of 2025 – selected through an open call. Residency support can span the entire life of a project\, from first explorations in the studio to final rehearsals for the premiere\, and even touring. \nWorks & Process invites New York City-based dance artists and dance companies to apply for week-long\, out-of-town residencies. Residencies will take place between October 2026 – May 2027 and may be used to start a new project or continue developing an existing work. \nWorks & Process supports creative process for companies of eight (or fewer) artists for seven-day residencies. Each artist receives an industry-leading fee of $175 per day ($1\,225 per week). Residencies also include 24/7 studio access\, on-site housing\, a travel stipend\, and health insurance enrollment access. Each residency culminates in an open rehearsal or showing for the local community. SUMMARY:New England Presenter Travel Fund
DESCRIPTION:Presenter Travel Fund enhances the performing arts in the region by supporting travel costs associated with researching artistic work that may eventually be presented in New England. \nPresenter Travel Fund grants to New England-based nonprofit organizations will cover up to 100% of travel feels up to $700\, including mileage\, economy class transportation\, meals\, lodging\, admission\, and conference or showcase registration fees. Grants range from $500 to $700. \nELIGIBILITY: \nBe a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization\, school\, federally recognized Indian tribal government\, or unit of state or local government. (Nonprofit organizations do not have to be arts organizations. Organizations that do not have a federal tax identification number may apply if part of an official government agency). Fiscal agents cannot be funded through New England Presenter Travel Fund. \nBe based in New England (Connecticut\, Maine\, Massachusetts\, New Hampshire\, Rhode Island\, and Vermont). \nHave a Unique Entity ID in SAM.gov. The federal government requires that all NEFA organizational grant recipients supported by federal funds register for a SAM.gov UEI (Unique Entity ID). Getting a UEI is a free process and can be done by visiting SAM.gov.
