• Anne Plamondon for Fall for Dance North – Program: Homecoming: 2024
  • September 26, 2024 – September 27, 2024:  Fall for Dance North will present Homecoming: 2024, a program featuring a world premiere by Anne Plamondon (female), alongside works by two other women including Daile Carrazano (female), and Emma Portner (female). 
• Kaatsbaan Culture Park 2024 Festival – Program: New Works Bill
  • September 28, 2024 – September 29, 2024:  Kaatsbaan Culture Park 2024 Festival will present New Works Bill: Limón Dance Company, Boca Tuya, and Music From The Sole, a program featuring a world premiere work by Kayla Farrish (female) alongside a performance by Boca Tuya and Music From The Sole. 
• Jessica Lang for Pacific Northwest Ballet – Program: Pacific Northwest Ballet
  • September 20, 2024 – September 29, 2024:  Pacific Northwest Ballet will present The Times are Racing, a program featuring a new work by Jessica Lang (female), alongside works by Edwaard Liang (male), Justin Peck (male).
• Kirsten Isenberg and Michelle Reid for Cape Ballet Africa – Program: Salt
  • September 21, 2024 – November 15, 2024:  Cape Ballet Africa will present its inaugural program, Salt, featuring new works by Kirsten Isenberg (female), Michelle Reid (female), and Mthuthuzeli November (male).

 

Female Choreography Commissions, World Premieres, and Programming

• Mari Carrasco for Royal Swedish Ballet – Program: Forever
  • September 27, 2024 – November 9, 2024:  the Royal Swedish Ballet will present Forever, a new work by Mari Carrasco (female).
• Natalie Weir for Singapore Ballet – Program: Passages Contemporary Season 2024
  • October 18, 2024 – October 20, 2024:  Singapore Ballet will present Passages Contemporary Season 2024, a program featuring world premiere works by Natalie Weir (female) and Paul Knobloch (male), alongside a work by KinSun Chan (male).
• Danielle Genest for Newport Contemporary Ballet – Program: Mosaic
  • October 18, 2024 – October 20, 2024:  Newport Contemporary Ballet will present Mosaic, a program featuring new works by Danielle Genest (female), and Takehiro “Take” Ueyama (male) alongside works by Maurice Ravel (male), and Amy Hall Garner (female). 
• Hanna Brotherus and Johanna Nuutinen for Finnish National Ballet – Program: It’s Time
  • October 24, 2024 – October 26, 2024:  Finnish National Ballet will present It’s Time, a program featuring world premiere works by Hanna Brotherus (female) and Johanna Nuutinen (female) alongside a work by Kenneth Kvarnström (male). 
• Madison Brown for American Ballet Theatre Studio Company
  • November 4, 2024 – November 17, 2024:  American Ballet Theatre Studio Company will present their 2024 tour, featuring world premiere works by Madison Brown (female) and Houston Thomas (male) alongside ballets by Brady Farrar (male), Amy Hall Garner (female), Yannick Lebrun (male), George Balanchine (male), Gerald Arpino (male) and Kevin McKenzie (male). 
• Azure Barton for Hamburg Ballet – Program: Slow Burn
  • December 8, 2024 – July 7, 2025:  Hamburg Ballet will present Slow Burn, a program featuring a world premiere work by Aszure Barton (female), alongside a work by William Forsythe (male).
• Marika Brussel for Newport Contemporary Ballet – Program: Mystical Ways
  • March 21, 2025 – March 23, 2025:  Newport Contemporary Ballet will present Mystical Ways, a program featuring a world premiere work by Marika Brussel (female), alongside a work by Danielle Genest.
• Imre van Opstal for Dresden Semperoper Ballet – Program: Vice Versa
  • June 28, 2025 – July 7, 2025:  Dresden Semperoper Ballet will present Vice Versa, a program featuring world premiere works by Natalie Weir (female) and Paul Knobloch (male), alongside a work by KinSun Chan (male).

• San Francisco Ballet Announces New Executive Director
  • On September 17, 2024:  San Francisco Ballet announced that Branislav Henselmann (male) has been appointed as the company’s new Executive Director. Henselmann succeeds Interim Executive Director Arturo Jacobus (male) who has been serving in the role since Danielle St. Germain (female) stepped down in April 2023.

• New York Live Arts Announces Fresh Tracks Residency Recipients
  • On September 19, 2024:  New York Live Arts announced that Maxi Canion (they/she), Kashia Kancey (female), Jade Manns (female), and ayo ohs (A.O./they/she) are the recipients of the Fresh Track Residency.
