In an Op Ed for the New York Times, Ms. Oliver discusses Thomas Campbell’s resignation as director of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Max Hollein, despite urges by the public to give a qualified woman the post, has been appointed as director. Oliver traces the misogyny that characterizes consideration of similar positions of leadership and finishes by noting the trend for smaller organizations to appoint females as directors. It is difficult to read this and not think of the same issue in the dance world.
