Female Choreography Commissions, World Premieres, and Programming

  • Yin Yue Dance Company to Present Somewhere
    • June 20, 2024 – June 22, 2024:  Yin Yue Dance Company will present Somewhere, a full-length program choreographed by Yin Yue (female) and Grace Whitworth (female) acting as Rehearsal Director. 
  • Maureen Glennon Clayton for Moe-tion Dance Theater
    • On June 15, 2024:  Moe-tion Dance Theater will present Intermix – A Choreography Showcase at Centenary Stage Company. The program will include world premiere works by Maureen Glennon Clayton (female), alongside works by Shelby Bakota (female), Kaitlyn Esposito (female), Nathan Forster (male), Lara M. Friedman-Kats (female), Kelly Guerrero (female), Juliana Hassouna (female), Heather Kroe (female), Mattie McGarey (female), Sabrina Olivieri (female), Nicole Smith Levay (female), Heather Warfel (female), Lisa Peluso (female), and a dance film by Andrea Kramer (female).
  • Keerati Jinakuwiphat and Ingrid Silva at Fire Island Dance Festival
    • July 19, 2024 – July 21, 2024:  Fire Island Dance Festival will present world premiere works by Keerati Jinakunwiphat (female),  Ingrid Silva (female), and Gilbert Bolden III (male), alongside an excerpt of a work by Lauren Lovette (female).
  • Cindy Van Acker at Lugano Dance Project – Program: Quiet Light
    • On June 13, 2024:  The biennial contemporary dance festival, Lugano Dance Project, will present Quiet Light, a world-premiere work by Cindy Van Acker (female). 
  • Francesca Romo and Lauren Edson for Contemporary Dance Wyoming
    • June 21, 2024 – June 22, 2024:  Contemporary Dance Wyoming will present Contemporary Dance Wyoming and Guests 2024, a program featuring a newly updated work by Francesca Romo (female) alongside work by Lauren Edson (female) and Andrea Miller (female). 
  • Alba Carbonell Castillo for Ballett Theater Nordhausen – Program: Virginia Woolf/When it is Time…
    • February 14, 2025 – May 3, 2025:  Ballett Theater Nordhausen will present Virginia Woolf/When it is Time…, A double bill featuring world premiere works by Alba Carbonell Castillo (female) and Ivan Alboresi (male).

  •  Compañía Nacional de Danza Announces Upcoming Leadership Change
    • In March 2024:  the Spanish dance company, Compañía Nacional de Danza announced that they would not be renewing the contract of the current company Director Joaquín de Luz (male) when it expires in August 2024. A search for a successor has been announced.
