• Sarah Slipper for NW Dance Project – Program: Moving Stories
  • May 31, 2024 – June 1, 2024:  NW Dance Project will present Moving Stories, A program featuring new works by Sarah Slipper (female) and Ihsan Rustem (male).
• McKinley Willis, Jasmine Snellen, Hannah Williamson, and Cecilia Benitez for Mutual Dance Theater – Program: Modern Mix ‘24
  • May 31, 2024 – June 1, 2024:  Mutual Dance Theater will present Modern Mix ‘24, a program featuring commissioned works by Cecilia Benitez (female), McKinley Willis (female), Jasmine Snellen (female) and Hannah Williamson (female).
• Achinta S. McDaniel for Blue13 Dance Company – Program: Soliloquy
  • May 31, 2024 – June 2, 2024:  Blue13 Dance Company will present Soliloquy, a new dance theater work by Achinta S. McDaniel (female).
• Marie Bourgeois for Nederlands Dans Theatre (NDT 1) – Program: Do Not Run Fly
  • May 16, 2024 – June 8, 2024:  Nederlands Dans Theatre (NDT 1) will present Do Not Run Fly, a triple bill program featuring world premiere works by Marie Bourgeois (female) & Yoann Bourgeois (male), and Marcos Morau (male) alongside a work by Crystal Pite (female).
• Dani Rowe and Shannon Alvis for the OBT2 Tour
  • April 20, 2024 – June 1, 2024:  Oregon Ballet Theater’s second company, OBT, 2 will present its 2024 tour featuring works by Dani Rowe (female), Shannon Alvis (female), Ben Stevenson (male) and Dominic Walsh (male).
• Amy Hall Garner for New York City Ballet – Program: Classic NYCB I
  • April 24, 2024 – June 6, 2024:  New York City Ballet will present Classic NYCB I, a program featuring world premiere works by Amy Hall Garner (female), and Justin Peck (male), alongside works by George Balanchine (male).’
• May Zarhy for Theater Chemnitz Ballet – Program: Showcase VII: Witness
  • April 25, 2024 – June 13, 2024:  Theater Chemnitz Ballet will present Showcase VII: Witness, A program featuring an evening-length work by May Zarhy (female).
• Ana Maria Lucaciu for Aalto Ballett Essen – Program: Last
  • April 13, 2024 – July 5, 2024:  Aalto Ballett Essen will present Last, a program featuring world premiere works by Ana Maria Lucaciu (female), Armen Hakobyan (male), and Ben Van Cauwenbergh (male).
• Gong Xingxing for Scapino Ballet Rotterdam – Program: Origin
  • April 7, 2024 – June 9, 2024:  Scapino Ballet Rotterdam will present Origin, a program featuring new works by Gong Xingxing (female), and Lior Tavori (male).
• Sharon Eyal and Sol León for Staatsballett Berlin – Program: 2 Chapters Love
  • December 11, 2023 – June 14, 2024:  Staatsballett Berlin will present 2 Chapters Love, A program featuring new works by Sharon Eyal (female), and Sol León (female).

 

Female Choreography Commissions, World Premieres, and Programming

• Allison Haan, Ericka Goss, Grace Sinke, and Tess Sinke for Deos Contemporary Ballet – Program: Awaken Series 24
  • June 1, 2024 – June 2, 2024:  Deos Contemporary Ballet will present Awaken Series 24, A program featuring world premiere works by Allison Haan (female), Ericka Goss (female), Grace Sinke (female), and Tess Sinke (female).
• Jawole Willa Jo Zollar for Urban Bush Women – Program: Scat!
  • June 28, 2024 – June 30, 2024:  Urban Bush Women will present Scat!, a world premiere evening-length work choreographed by Jawole Willa Jo Zollar (female).
• Lauren Lovette for Leipzig Ballet – Program: Romeo and Julia
  • October 26, 2024 – December 28, 2024:  Leipzig Ballet will present Romeo and Julia, An evening-length ballet choreographed by Lauren Lovette (female).
• Sofia Nappi for Leipzig Ballet – Program: Humans
  • February 1, 2025 – February 17, 2025:  Leipzig Ballet will present Humans, a program featuring new works by Sofia Nappi (female) and Louis Stiens (male).
• Toni Pimble for Eugene Ballet – Program: The Toni’s
  • On April 12, 2025:  Eugene Ballet will present The Toni’s, A program featuring a new work by Toni Pimble (female) and other repertory works choreographed by Toni Pimble.

•  The Dutch National Ballet School Announces New Leadership Positions
  • On May 17, 2024:  The Dutch National Ballet School Announced that two new leadership positions have been created in light of Dutch National Ballet School Artistic Director Ernst Meisner’s (male) addition appointment to the position of “Associate Director of Talent Development” for the Dutch National Ballet. Meisner will maintain his position as Artistic Director of the Academy now with the support of Dario Elia (male) who will serve as Deputy Artistic Director, and Mthuthuzeli November (male) as an Artistic Associate. [
• Royal Swedish Ballet Announces Search for New Artistic Director
  • On May 18, 2024:  the Royal Swedish Ballet announced an international search for a new Artistic Director. Applications for the position will close on June 30, 2024. The new leader will succeed Nicolas Le Riche (male)
• Ballett Dortmund Announces New Leadership Team
  • On May 18, 2024:  Ballett Dortmund announced that Dr. Jaš Otrin (male) has been appointed Artistic Director of the Ballet. It was also announced that Annabelle Lopez Ochoa (female) and Edward Clug (male) have been appointed as Artists in Residence, tasked with “support(ing) young talents in dance, dance pedagogy, and choreography.” 
  • This Leadership team will succeed the current Artistic Director Xin Peng Wang (male) effective at the beginning of the 2025/2026 season.
• Theater Basel Announces New Ballet Artistic Director
  • On May 22, 2024:  Theater Basel announced that Marco Goecke (male) will become the new Artistic Director of the ballet effective Summer 2025. Goecke will succeed Adolphe Binder (male) in the position.

• The National Center for Choreography-Akron Announces Inaugural Knight Choreography Prize
  • The National Center for Choreography-Akron has announced that Rosie Herrera (female) is the Inaugural Knight Choreography Prize recipient.
