- Stephanie Lake Company At Sydney Festival – Program: The Chronicles
- January 16, 2025 – January 19, 2025: Stephanie Lake Company will be at the Sydney Festival premiering The Chronicles, a new work by Stephanie Lake (female).
- Robyn Mineko Williams for Whim Whim – Program: Winter ‘25
- January 17, 2025 – January 25, 2025: Whim Whim will present Winter ‘25, a program featuring new creations by Robyn Mineko Williams (female), Cameron Fraser-Monroe (male), and Olivier Wevers (male).
Female Choreography Commissions, World Premieres, and Programming
- Natasha Adorlee, Elaine Kimble, Olivia Jacobus & Amira Hogan for Kansas City Ballet – Program: New Moves
- January 30, 2025 – February 2, 2025: Kansas City Ballet will present New Moves, a program featuring new works by Natasha Adorlee (female), Peter Chu (male), Duncan Cooper (male), Elaine Kimble (female), Olivia Jacobus (female) & Amira Hogan (female), and Elliott Rogers (male).
- DaYoung Jung and Laine Habony for Pointeworks Tour
- March 21, 2025 – March 22, 2025: Pointeworks will be on tour in NYC presenting a program featuring new works by DaYoung Jung (female), Gabriel Speiller (male), and Laine Habony (female) with original score composed by Katie Jenkins (female). The program will also feature works by Caili Quan (female), Reka Gyulai (female), and Heather Nichols (female).
- DaYoung Jung, Laine Habony, and Reka Gyulai for Pointeworks – Program: Ballet Nights Season II
- June 14, 2025, & June 20, 2025: Pointeworks will present Ballet Nights Season II, a program featuring world premiere works by DaYoung Jung (female), Laine Habony (female), and Reka Gyulai (female), alongside a work by Christopher Wheeldon (male)
Leadership Changes
- San José Dance Theatre Announces New Artistic Director
- On January 7, 2025: San José Dance Theatre announced that Nicole Haskins (female) has succeeded Mariana Zschoerper (female) as Artistic Director of the company. This is a female-to-female transition.
- Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Announces New Artistic Director and Chief Choreographer
- On January 6, 2025: the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet announced that Jurgita Dronina (female) will succeed Martynas Rimeikis (male) as Artistic Director of the Ballet effective January 15, 2025. This is a male-to-female transition. The company also announced that Rimeikis will take on the role of Chief Choreographer.
- Royal Academy of Dance Announces New CEO
- On January 6, 2025: the Royal Academy of Dance announced that Elizabeth Honer (female) will succeed Tim Arthur (male) as CEO of the Academy effective January 21, 2025. This is a male-to-female transition.
- Ballet Memphis Announces Departure of President & CEO
- On January 8, 2025: Ballet Memphis announced that President & CEO Gretchen Wollert McLennon (female) will step down effective April 27, 2025. No successor has been announced as of the date of this post.
