Inspired by the philosophy of artistic director and cultural leader Dr. Chiara Ajkun, the AjkunBT Fund is enthused by the United States Mutual Education and Cultural Exchange Act of 1961 (Fulbright-Hayes), a cornerstone of public diplomacy and an integral component of the foreign policy of the United States of America.
The mission of the AjkunBT Fund is to increment professional opportunities by providing merit and need-based financial aid to dancers, choreographers, and dance companies.
American and International Artists equally qualify for grants from The AjkunBT Fund and special partnership opportunities are offered to Artists living in underprivileged communities. At press time, Artists from 135 Countries have benefited from our grants.
To receive financial aid, candidates must participate in an Audition. The selection is made on the basis of personal and professional qualifications. Other qualifications being equal, among the same country’s applicants, dance students and dance professionals in financial need receive preference. Financial need status must be supported by legal evidence provided at application time. Among other factors, selections are affected by:
- The extent to which the candidate will help to advance the aims of promoting mutual understanding among nations and professional dance knowledge in underprivileged areas;
- The ratio of the number of awards offered in a country to the number of applications received;
- Availability of funding made available to citizens of participating countries. art scholarships and grants financial aid for dancers and choreographers;
- Ballet company.
