The Emerging Choreographer Fellowship grants two creative artists, ages 18 to 35, an opportunity to create and premiere a new work as part of Aimed Dance Summer Fest Concert Series. The fellowship recipients will be granted up to eight hours of studio time with the performance company in July 2025. The recipients will be selected through a three-person selection panel looking for a clear understanding of the choreographer’s aesthetic, clarity of overall choreographic vision, attention to movement invention and sophisticated design choices, and more. The Emerging Choreographer Fellowship is designed to give up-and-coming creative artists ages 18 – 35 an opportunity to create and present new work. For us, emerging includes anyone who does not already have a platform for presentation, has presented less than 10 works professionally, and could benefit from space, time, and bodies to continue their path as a creative artist. Creative artists may apply by completing the fellowship application form with their contact information, proposed project information, resume/ curriculum vitae, and choreography reel. Additional application elements include a headshot/action shot, short biography, and teaching preference/ class descriptions. In order to see the depth of the applicants work, we are asking for 3 – 5 short work samples, versus one full work, put into a single video link. Understanding that we are seeking emerging artists, rehearsal footage of previous or current work will be accepted. The application is not complete until fulfilling the application fee of $15.
